To live the GOOD LIFE you’ve got to get OUTSIDE

SO WE HELP pups and their people live their best lives; learning, exploring and finding freedom through nature

We are an experienced, passionate, nature-based dog training and hiking team.

We understand dogs’ true nature, and we work with (instead of trying to suppress) their natural needs and strengths, so we can inspire better behavior quickly, and build trust and a pattern of better choices long-term.

How a dingo started it all

My fire cracker of a pup sprinted up and down the hillside, crunching the dry leaves discarded by autumn. As we explored we found giant rocks to launch off of, streams to wade in, fields to frolic through, and hills to climb that rewarded us with spectacular views from the top.

The first time I had been brave enough to ditch the dull urban walks and take my young pup Penzi hiking, she strained and bounded at the end of her leash, she whined in excited anticipation at the sight of other dogs playing, and was desperate to be free to join them. Armed with a pocket full of treats, I took a deep breath and a leap of faith and let my little ginger pup off the leash: as she bounded through the underbrush, I saw her for the first time, I saw her truly come to life.

Moving freely together became our natural state of being, and the time we were sharing in nature wasn’t just to tire-out my energetic rescue pup: it kept me grounded too. We enjoyed this ritual so much, I was inspired to share the peace and fulfillment Penzi and I found on the trails with other dogs. After mentioning my ‘hiking with dogs’ idea to a few friends, they all enthusiastically signed-up to be my first clients: A Dog’s Life had officially begun.

After eighteen years of growth and adventure, hundreds of happy, satisfied pups and over ten thousand hours of exploration: our reason for being still holds true.
